DAY 7 - PHASE 2: Expansion

Pleasure as Practice

YOU'VE BEEN DOING SOUL MUCH!

So today? You're going to enjoy your life.

Not as a reward for everything you’ve moved through so far. Not after you've checked off every box. Not when you've finally "made it."

Right now. Today. Just freaking because.


THE PATTERN YOU'RE moving on from

Here's what happens for most people building something:

You work. You hustle. You show up. You build capacity. You expand. And then you immediately move to the next thing.

Oy.

You hit a goal and think, "Okay, what's next?"

You make money and think, "How do I make more?"

You get visible and think, "How do I reach more people?"

There's no pause. No savoring. No actual enjoyment of what you're creating.

And here's the problem with that: If you never enjoy the life you're building, why are you building it?

Expansion isn't just about holding more money, more visibility, more opportunities.

Expansion is about holding more joy. More pleasure. More aliveness.

And if you can't slow down long enough to enjoy a cup of tea, read a chapter of a book, stretch your body, or do something that feels good for no reason other than it feels good, then you're not actually expanding.

You're just doing more. And that’s not your WHY.


TODAY'S PRACTICE:

DO SOMETHING YOU DON'T “technically” NEED TO DO

You're going to take time out of your day to do something completely unnecessary.

Something that serves no purpose other than it feels freaking wonderful.

Something that's just for you. Just for pleasure and your personal enjoyment.

Examples:

  • Make a cup of tea and actually sit with it (no phone, no scrolling, just tea)

  • Read a chapter of a book or flip through a magazine

  • Do a gua sha facial or skincare routine slowly and intentionally

  • Stretch your body for 10 minutes

  • Light a candle and gaze into the flame

  • Take a bath (extra bubbles as a bonus!)

  • Listen to music and let your inner ears tune in

  • Go for a walk with no destination (just don’t get lost please ;)

  • Cook something you love

  • Dance in your kitchen

  • Lay in the sun

The rules:

  1. It has to be distraction-free. No phone. No multitasking. No "productive" outcome.

  2. It has to feel good. Not something you think you should do. Something you actually want to do.

  3. It doesn't need to be long. Even 5 minutes counts. This isn't about the time. It's about the quality of presence.

  4. It has to be today. This isn’t something you schedule for tomorrow.

WHAT THIS CREATES

You're not just building capacity to hold more work. You're building capacity to hold more LIFE.

More joy. More ease. More pleasure. More presence.

That's what expansion actually is.


The horse doesn't just gallop or race.

It grazes. It rests. It enjoys the field.

You get to do the same, love!
